FULL TIME CARETAKER
Job Title Caretaker, 20 hours per week, 2.30pm -6.30 p.m. (Extra hours will be required at times)
Salary: Scale point NJC 1 (£20,258 pro rata) + LW £2,094 pro rata

The Post: We require a caretaker to join our Facilities Team. The post involves opening/locking of the whole school site, maintaining the school grounds and the interior of the building and ensuring that the school is cleaned to a high standard and is health and safety compliant. The caretaker is responsible for the taking charge of and distributing deliveries, inspecting and maintaining logs of playground equipment, fire alarms and security systems as well as carrying out general maintenance and decorating as and when required. This will be a permanent position pending satisfactory completion of initial 3 month probation period.
The Person: The applicant must possess basic handyman skills (Carpentry, plumbing, painting, pond care, plant pruning). He/ She must have a working knowledge of health & safety law. He/She must be able to work as part of a team, be flexible, hard- working and have a strong commitment to the safety and security of the school.
There will be a requirement to work longer hours at times, sometimes at short notice so the applicant must be flexible and willing to adapt his/her working hours to suit the school’s needs.
