As of 1st March 2016, Furness Primary Academy and Oakington Manor Primary School joined the Excellence in Education Trust, making both schools into an academy.
There are 20 governors consisting of parents, staff, local authority representatives, partnership and co-opted governors. The governing body is responsible for the strategic management of the school and helps make decisions about a wide range of issues.
